  1. Females ≥70 years of age served as the reference. ORs were adjusted for prior cardiovascular disease (CVD) and diabetes. CVD is a composite of diagnoses: including angina pectoris, prior revascularisation, ischaemic stroke/transitory ischaemic attack, or peripheral artery disease (PAD). PAD comprised leg artery disease, a stenosing lesion of the carotid, or atherosclerotic aneurysm. Diabetes includes type 1 and type 2
